BACK STORY

Jamie writes..

Carrie Vanilow was born on 19th February 1967 in the pictorial English village of Wales. He soon realised that his burgeoning ambition, not to mention his penchant for dressing up made him a figure of fun in his village. 'Here comes Andrew' they would say at the Post Office 'To buy his bloody stamps again, who does he think he is.' The cruel yokels, unbeknown to them, had a point. Throughout his formative years Andrew was troubled by a constant grapple with his indentity. He followed fashion like it was going out of style, constantly looking for something that expressed his troubles, his desires, his wonderful singing voice. Needless to say, he left the village as soon as he was eligable for a visa and thumbed his way to the bright lights of Bristol. There he felt at home, he joined a darts team and made friends at the bus station. Things were starting to look up for Andrew. Then one fateful night, 27th January 1982 things took a turn for the even better. Andrew had made a special friend at the bus staion, an older gent who offered Andrew his spare ticket to see Barry Manilow in Brighton that very night. The gent had broken up with his wife that day, Andrew couldn't believe his luck! To cut a long story short, that night Andrew found his calling in life; to dress up like a tart and sing Barry Manilow songs, Carrie Vanilow was born!

From James' daily newspaper..
> urgh ga ga ergh. argh. confused.
> stolen cheese rolls.
> 'pretty vacant' would be a good song to describe it.
> back to sleep. groggy.
> purple rain purple rain!! ..making me feel a liddle bedda.
> flushing body with water.
> acted like Sree last night, difference was only 1 person saw it.
> hope i dont bump into any old art.....tutors or bad art.......students.
> saw man dressed as pink fairy taking a piss in city centre in full view of all. his friends were dressed as superman and an old lady.
> went back to my old stomping ground. enjoyed walking around southville. good memories. bit nervous walking to bower ashton again.
> hardly saw any art at the degree show. was in really SILLY mood and kept giggling with Carrie Vanilow while watching pretty people.
> loads of Carrie Vanilow songs were born.1 songs sounds like budget Prince, its wicked! planning strange live shows. exciting!
> remembered from night b4 "oh! saw emily from BB8! again". no chat this time. "i'm lady gaga!" said with little tea cup full of wine.
> BB10 - the thought of Sree's bacon sandwiches kept making me laugh. the happy look on his face as he walked out into the garden.
> crazy DJ at bower ashton played a really puzzlingly bad set of songs which including that "would u go to bed with me" song. no irony.
> balloons floated sinisterly very slowly to spike island. "ich habe BOOGIE!". dancing to Marvin Gaye while writing Carrie lyrics.
> HEADLESS ROCKIN' HORSE!
